Let Merriment Abound
This weekend we attended the Maryland Renaissance Festival. For those of you in the D.C./Baltimore/VA area, I’m sure you have heard of it. Every fall I hear a mention or two about the Festival, but yet we have never gone. So after the kid’s first t-ball game on Saturday, we took off to Maryland. Acres upon acres of woods have been transformed into a 16th century English village. Apparently this festival has been in place since 1977, and has grown into a tremendous attraction averaging 12,000 attendees per day! Musicians, comedians and magicians filled the many stages. There were pubs, artisans at work (glass blowing, metal smiths) and jousting in full armour. It was a memorable day. And an extremely hot one!
