the sweet bead studio Inspiration Board {and tutorial}

Hello

Thanks for dropping by!  I know it’s been a week since you heard from me last, but life at the beach means time away from the computer (not to mention terribly slow Internet connections…grr!).  I’ve missed visiting your blogs and hope to get back in the circuit as time allows.  Today I have something special to share with you – I planned ahead and took pictures before we left home.

Would you like to see my favorite corner of my studio?  Hanging on the wall you’ll see my brand new inspiration board.  Do you have one too?  Many use inspiration boards (or mood boards)  to hang inspiring cut-outs, photos, postcards, correspondence, anything with personal meaning.  These items can be removed or added as your mood changes.  My board contains items that I hold dear – thoughtful gifts from friends, nostalgic keepsakes, vintage jewelry and colors that I love.

How about a closer look….. here are just a few of my sentimental treasures and where they originated:

pendant-by-esther-atc-by-sharon_2

A pretty, ornate pendant by Esther.   A beautiful ATC from Sharon.

inspiration-board_boys-at-the-beach

Antique silver and mother of pearl baby rattle from Kerry, and a glimpse of a resin bezel by Kristin.   A bunch of giggly beach boys.

tag-and-pin-from-esther1

Personalized tag and brooch with photo transfer by Esther.

inspiration-board_elegant-lady

A turn-of-the-century photo of an elegant lady.  I’d love to know why she is dressed up so – is it her wedding day?   This one really grabs me.

mary-card

An old holy card of the Blessed Mother flanked by rhinestones and vintage chandelier crystals.

inspirationboard_catkerr

A mixed media pendant by Cat.  What a great message.
religious-medal-from-lori
A flea market find – a special, old religious medal given to me by Lori.  It is signed by the gift-giver and was given at Christmas time.
I hope you enjoyed a peek in to one corner of my studio.  If  you’d like to make your own inspiration board, I‘ve written a step-by -step photo tutorial. Just click on the TUTORIAL LINK and you’ll see how I made mine!
*If you already have an inspiration board, please take a picture and share the link with us – we’d love to see YOURS too! 🙂
Thank you for visiting!
