Sweet Bead Studio Blog

Back to basics…I mean, back to beads!

Last night I finally did something I have been wanting to do for a long time. Even though it was almost 10:00, the anticipation of finally doing this sure gave me a second wind! Armed with a bowl of ice-cream, I flipped through one of my reference books for a quick refresher (heaven forbid I forgot to do something major, it’s been so long!). I just needed that last-minute reassurance. I then headed out to my garage studio, and cranked up Third Eye Blind. The kiln was ready to go, the fan was on, shades of brown glass were selected, and I turned on the torch! Oh how fun it was to be absorbed with making glass beads again! With that intense concentration, time just seemed to fly and I was in some other world. I may have made the most basic beads ever, but it sure was fun solitary time! Kerry and Chrissie, you’d be proud of me! 🙂

Brown Beads

Now I mentioned Kerry’s new website the other day, today I’d like to share Chrissie’s site with you. Chrissie and her fiance, Vince, recently launched their new website TryChange. TryChange is a wonderful site to visit and read stories of inspiration and motivation. Reading their blog is time well spent and will certainly leave you feeling uplifted and full of positive energy. If you have an inspirational story to share, I bet they would love to hear from you!
