Boot Camp

party-dog-tags

When you have a household of boys and no girls (except for me, the Queen Bee), you kinda figure that beading birthday parties aren’t going to happen.  No pink princess parties, no glamour-girl shindigs.  What we DID have  yesterday here at Fort Wimmer was an all-out bootcamp/Army soldier/Nerf party.  And somehow the opportunity to make jewelry presented itself.  I made dog tags!  Each boy was given a hand-stamped dog tag (which had undergone full indoctrination in my tumbler) and it was an afternoon full of all-boy craziness.

Oh yeah! With 2 boys, and 1 girl, (who is not a girly girl) we can all relate!!

What an awesome idea! I’ll bet the boys will treasure these for a long while!

I loved when my daughters had girly parties, but one of the best parties was when we made marshmallow guns and played with them outside in the light of the full moon for my son’s birthday. What a blast! That was years ago but the boys keep talking about it.

The dog tags are an inspired way to slip a bit of jewelry into an all boy party! I have a grown up boy who would love that cake. He’s already got his own dog tags though.

The Queen bee…love that! Your children are so beautiful! I miss mine when they were little shucks. My boys were over today Cindy and I just watched them and soaked them in watching them talk and laugh with me. When they were pulling away to go to my Sons apt I softly cried. You want to hold on to them forever. Maybe thats one of the wonderful things ahead is what Heavens all about. We will all play and never have to say goodbye. Your familys lovely and oh that cake! What a great cake lol…

Can you make one of those cakes for my husband’s birthday? I don’t think men really ever grow up– I’m sure he would have had just as much fun as the boys did! and he went to real “basic” training. You are the best mom!! Love the tags!
