Sweet Bead Studio Blog

Happy Weekend!

Did you enjoy that beautiful weather today??  And it’s going to be a beautiful Saturday too!

I haven’t had the chance to slow down all week and post on the blog, but here I am now.  And yes, it’s 1:00 a.m.  If you know me, you’re probably not surprised.  I do have a few pretty jewelry trinkets to share to make up for my absence!

I really love the colors in this first necklace.  My inspiration was this sweet, heart-shaped porcelain focal by Nancy of Round Rabbit.   Come to think of it, this is the second time I’ve used one of her heart pendants for a necklace.  Remember this one?   The glaze in this pendant was complemented by pearls, smokey quartz, wood and copper beads.   I had planned to oxidize this piece once I was finished, but that shiny copper colored wire turned out to be just perfect left the way it is.

I really like this next piece….so much so that you’ll see it soon in another photo here on my blog. 🙂   Vintage, edgy, romantic, wouldn’t you say?  I created a coiled bail from stainless steel wire, complete with a large Swarovski cosmic crystal, pearl and chain dangles.  I used some great crystal rondelles and antiqued stainless chain that I found on Etsy.  There are so many great suppliers on Etsy to turn to when you’re feeling creative!

And speaking of Etsy, I received these ceramic pieces from Summers Studio in the mail today.  The beads and pendants were packaged so nice and spiffy!  The colors are beautiful….can’t wait to use them in a future creation.

I received another package today….containing something extra special inside.  I ordered this sterling crucifix and center medallion to make a rosary for my son’s upcoming First Communion.  I have never made a rosary before and can’t wait to make something this important by hand.  I’ll be sure to post a picture of the rosary soon once it’s finished.

Have a great weekend & thanks for stopping by!
